PIGGS

A hidden gem for those who love fine wine and good tapas — a Campos family table, and an authentic Spanish welcome in the heart of Edinburgh.

Two doors, one welcome

One brand.
Two corners of Edinburgh.

Find us on the Royal Mile among the bustle of the Old Town, or on Bruntsfield Place in the south side — same family, same wine list, same warm Spanish room.

The room

Warm stone, amber light,
a pig on the wall.

Exposed Edinburgh stone and grey-painted brick, light oak underfoot, mustard banquettes and, glowing on the wall, the one-line amber-neon pig that gives the place its name.

It’s intimate and it’s upbeat — a relaxed room with genuine Spanish charm. Wine you’ll want to linger over, tapas made to be shared, and the kind of welcome that makes strangers into regulars.

The family

Run by the people
who pour the wine.

Piggs began with Ignacio ‘Iggy’ Campos, who opened one of Scotland’s first Spanish restaurants back in 1989. Today his sons keep the family table going — with a head chef who cooks the Spain he grew up in.

Daniel & Victor

Iggy came out of retirement in 2019 to open Piggs with his son Daniel; younger brother Victor came on board soon after. The brothers have run it ever since — lively, upbeat and unmistakably Spanish.

Chevi

Jose Vicente — ‘Chevi’ — grew up in Castilla-La Mancha, the home of Manchego. Twelve years a chef, five of them at Piggs, he brings authentic Spanish flavour to the Royal Mile. Ask for the tortilla.

Come down and make a pig of yourself — we’re fairly sure you won’t be disappointed.
